Wavepark Mentawai

Wavepark was amazing. It's a resort run by an ex-pat Kiwi based on an island in the Mentawai's. The Mentawai's are a chain of islands to the south of west Sumatra. There are so many world class surf breaks in this island chain it's unbelievable. Wavepark is in close proximity to 19 breaks which all work on different winds, tides and swells. It's pretty close to the equator too, so the water temp stays steady at about 28 degrees.

We got one good swell when we were there and got the left out front of where we were staying firing. The winds didn't really co-operate so well, so we couldn't surf alot of breaks in the area. We still got amazing waves though.
