Padang Padang

We got lucky when we first arrived in Bali getting to surf Padang Padang twice in four days. The first day we turned up was small to medium sized but only 10 guys out at it's most crowded. We got heaps of good waves, definitley a good way to start the trip.

 A couple of days later a big swell hit and the whole Bukit Peninsula lit up. We surfed impossibles that afternoon but with the swell coming up fast it go a little too fast and we wore a few too many clean-up sets on the head. After a banana pancake at Nikki's warung on the beach at bingin we headed up to Padang Padang. We turned up to some of the best waves we'd ever seen with about 50 people in the lineup. A whole bunch of pro surfers were out there including Andy Irons, Shaun Cansdell, Dave Rastovich, Parko and apparently Taj was out there too but we didn't see him. Andy, Lee Wilson and a local guy Wayan were the sandouts. Andys snap then 10ft air drop into the barrel was unreal.

We surfed Padang Padang the next morning once the crowd had thinned. It wasn't quite as big as the previous afternoon but still firing. We all got a bunch of good waves. Not a bad start to the trip.
